7 Deadly Sins of Beauty TAG!

1. GREED- What is the most inexpensive and most expensive beauty products you have purchased?

most inexpensive:
I purchased this at Ulta for I think $1.00, I think you definitely get what you pay for so while this looks pretty and glittery, it has no payoff.

most expensive:
I didn't count moisturizers or any type of makeup palette that I have bought. But this one product was $50 and I wish I could say it was worth it. This is the highly sought after Chanel universal bronzer that I literally went on a waiting list to have. I think it was mostly the challenge that appealed to me. I have used this maybe 4 times. Please don't be dumb like me and buy this.

2. WRATH- What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Black eyeliner. It looks so pretty on some people but it makes me look like a hooker. I have tried many different ones hoping the result would be different but sadly no winners yet.

3.GLUTTONY- What are your most delicious products?
This is my most favorite bath product in the world. hands down. I love anything by Lush. This soap I can't even explain how it smells, but it is amazing and is so creamy and moisturizing
.
I found this for $4.99 at TJ Maxx. It smells like a Pina Colada but better. I am not a fan of vanilla scents but I love coconut. This stuff is amazing and parabin free.

4. SLOTH- What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

Foundation Primer. I don't know if it is laziness as much as forgetfulness though.

5. PRIDE- What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

Foundation hands down. There is nothing like clear skin. I do not have perfect skin, I have freckles and redness and foundation makes that all better. Close second: mascara.

6. LUST- What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

loves Jesus
makes me laugh
great personality
loves his family
athletic
tall
really handsome

basically this guy:

7. ENVY- What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

Perfume. My favorites right now are Armani Acqua di Goia and Kate Spade Twirl. I think perfume would be much easier to pick out as a gift rather than makeup anyway.

I think this is such a fun TAG! If any of you decides to do it let me know in the comments because I would love to see what yours would be!

Tuesday Three

Here's what 3 things I am obsessed with today-

1. This eyeshadow duo from MAC

Culturalized is my favorite duo from the new MAC collection. It is limited addition so if you like it go to your nearest MAC counter soon. It is soo pretty! So happy I snagged this last week!

2. Bath and Body Works Leaves Candle

This may be my favorite smell ever. It has been very rainy all week and it has made me in the mood for fall smells. So I lit my Leaves candle last night and the whole place smelled amazing in minutes. Bath and Body Works has the 3 wick candles on sale 2 for $20, yay!

3. These Brahmin bags I found in my inbox this morning

I love the orange!

Have a great Tuesday!

What's In My Beauty Bag

Like many girls I know, I carry a small beauty bag in my purse full of items I use throughout the day. I probably have way too many lip products but I can't help myself, in my opinion you can never have too many.

I like to keep my purse organized so I keep several small bags inside that hold different things. This bag holds all of my makeup items that I keep in my purse.

Nars Turkish Delight, Chanel Bikini Peach, Bare Minerals Showoff, MAC Astral and Fashion Scoop

Revlon Peach, Chanel Boy, MAC Angel, MAC Innocence Beware, MAC Cherish, Viva Glam V

Clinique Chubby Stick in Mighty Mimosa and MAC Tendertone in Hush

I always keep MAC Studio Fix powder for touch ups and for the mirror, Dental Floss, and Mascara Samples

FAVS: MAC Eyeshadows

Oh geez. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I am in love with MAC cosmetics. Seriously. One day I will do a post on my eyeshadow collection, but today I thought I would condense and pick my favorite/most used ones. This was very hard to narrow down but I was very proud that I narrowed down to 10 of my favorites. I have been collecting MAC products for about 10 years so my collection has gotten fairly large but these are the shadows that I have repurchased tons of times and ALWAYS have on hand. If you have never used MAC, you should. It is by far my favorite makeup brand overall. If you have seen the products before but were overwhelmed and didn't know what to buy here are some great ones to try. You will notice that I am a big fan of neutral brown colors. I have blue eyes and I just find they work best, if I want to be daring I go for a shimmery coppery color.

 All That Glitters
Probably one of the first shadows I ever bought. Perfect inner corner highlight. Perfect all over lid color for a super casual day. Such a pretty color.

 Dazzlelight
This is my everyday highlight color. I've hit pan on this so you can tell I use it a ton. I have repurchased this I don't know how many times.

 Sweet Satisfaction
This is one of the newer pro-longwear shadows. They are meant to last all day without creasing. I love love love this color. Very pretty slightly shimmery taupe color.

 Honey Lust
Very pretty shimmery copper color, very similar to Mythology one of my other favorites but a lighter version.

 Retro Speck
First MAC shadow I ever bought. This color is a must have. Period.

 Era
Super light, very wearable, just pretty taupe shade.

 Tempting
Great for a smokey eye, it is a very pretty brown color with a bit of shimmer.

 Satin Taupe
This is a very pretty taupe shade. I love building this up for a night out.

 Texture
This is a velvet finish, super pretty copper color. Very light and no glitter.

Woodwinked
Hands down my favorite MAC shadow ever!! I will always have this color in my collection. You can blend this out to be super light and pretty or really build it up for a lot of color. Buy this.

Swatched Left to Right: Woodwinked, Tempting and Satin Taupe
This is with one swipe so you can see how pigmented these shadows are.

Do any of you love MAC as much as I do? What are your favorites?

FAV Winter Nail Polishes

I love love love nail polish!! Some might would even refer to my love as an obsession. I typically change the color on my nails about every 3-4 days. I know a lot of people think of painting their nails as a hassle, but I have it down to a science after lots of practice. To me having manicured nails with pretty polish just completes a look. Here are my favorite/most used polishes for Fall/Winter.

Nudes:

(L to R) Yummy Mummy, Sweet Heart, and Mimosas for Mr. and Mrs.

These are great colors if you are not comfortable with color on your nails. They are really great nudes that look great on every skin tone. OPI's Sweet Heart is my go-to nude year round.

Pinks/Reds:

(L to R) Queen Vic, Angora Cardi, Over the Knee, Limited Addiction

If you only try one of these out, Angora Cardi is the one I would pick. I love this color, it is the perfect pop of color for your nails in the winter time. Limited Addiction is my favorite red, it is a true red, no shimmer and looks so pretty for a night out.
Browns/Neutrals:

(L to R) Little Brown Dress, Mink Muffs, Glamour Purse, Hot Coco, Chinchilly

Mink Muffs has been one of my most used polishes this season and I highly recommend it. Anytime I pull out my nail polish container and don't know what to use I grab Mink Muffs.
Darks:

(L to R) Carry On, We'll Always Have Paris, Mrs. O'leary's BBQ, William Tell Me About OPI

There is something really chic about dark nails to me, but I cannot put black polish on my nails it just looks bad. So I opt for darker maroon colors that achieve the same look without making my hands look pasty goth. We'll Always Have Paris has been my favorite this year. So pretty.
Brands: Butter London, OPI and Essie

What nail polish colors are your must-haves?

Drugstore Beauty Products: Raves and Reviews

So I must make one small confession.. I did not actually purchase any of these items at a drugstore.. BUT you can buy them in a drugstore. I just happen to be an ULTA addict so I bought them there, plus they are always sending me coupons and deals.. and it doesn't hurt that I earn points on my club card when I shop there.

Over the past few months I have stepped out of my MAC comfort zone to try different products and see what all is out there. I have never been one for drugstore cosmetics but after all of the things I've been hearing I had to try a few. I can say that in most cases you do get what you pay for, in other cases I have been VERY pleasantly surprised!

Herbal Tinted Lip Balm by Palladio $3.49

Love. This. Stuff. Very creamy and moisturizing and comes in great color choices. My favorite is the berry one.

Liquid Eye Liner by Palladio $5.99

I mainly bought this because I wanted to try a liquid liner with this type of applicator but didn't want to spend a lot if I wasn't going to like it. All in all I think it's a good product, definitely made me want to try a higher end one similar to this. I'm thinking maybe Urban Decay or MAC.

Maybelline Dream Mouse Blush $6.99

I do not love this product. I guess it's ok for a cream blush but not even close to as good as a MAC one. I got this because they had a buy one get one for Maybelline at ULTA and thought it was worth a shot... definitely not at least in my opinion.

Maybelline Falsies Mascara $6.99

OMG. Seriously. I don't have words to accurately describe how much I love this mascara. For $6.99 I was BLOWN AWAY!! I've been paying $26 for Lancome mascara and this is VERY comparable. Although I don't think I can give up my Lancome because it really is great, I will be keeping this in my collection because it really is a great find! I recommend trying this to everyone. I've seen it in grocery stores for $5, it's too cheap not to try. I love it.

Lash Accelerating Mascara by Rimmel London $9.99

Ok besides this being double what the amazing Maybelline one is, it is horrible. It does not work. I think I applied like 5 coats and couldn't even tell it was on it was very liquidy. Do not buy this. I was fooled by the commercials and I thought since the Maybelline Falsies was so great that this one would probably be too. I was very wrong.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish PRO Nail Polish in Steel Gray $3.99

Great polish and this is one of my favorite colors for right now. You really can't beat it for $4. Other than Milani I'd say it would be my top drug store polish. They have lots of pretty colors to choose from but the Steel Gray is definitely my fav of the moment.

Have you guys found any products that you love or hate lately?? I would love to know! I'm always looking for great finds.

August Favorites: Makeup/Beauty Products

I cannot believe that today is September 1st!! As I've said before I am slightly obsessed with makeup, and although I will always be a devoted MAC customer, I have tried a few things lately from other brands that I have really come to love, so of course I had to share it with you guys! So here are some of my recent finds that I love and highly recommend!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Halfbaked
OMG. Seriously I am in love with this eyeshadow. The pigment is amazing and it looks beautiful for any eye color. This shadow is also featured in the very popular, sold out everywhere, I need one ASAP, Naked palette, but I got the full size of it because it is that pretty. I have never tried Urban Decay shadows, but they are very similar to MAC and I love them. I definitely plan on adding more of their shadows to my collection.

MAC primer

For the last year I have been using Smashbox photo finish primer but it tends to be a bit oily which I do not like. So last time I was at the MAC counter I decided to try their primer and I love it!! It makes your makeup go on smoother and stay on longer and who doesn't want that?!

tarte lash hugger mascara

This mascara is one of the best I have tried. It will not clump, if you put 20 coats, which I probably do sometimes, it still will not clump. It makes your lashes look long and gorgeous plus it is Ecco friendly! Bonus! (get it, tree hugger, lash hugger)

Chanel Peach Bikini lip gloss

Shiny not sticky, and such a pretty shade of peachy pink.

EOS Lip balm

It's organic, smells great, goes on smooth and you don't have to get it on your finger. And it comes in 4 different flavors. Awesome.

MAC mineralize eye shadow trio in Making It Easy

Who doesn't love a trio? Literally you have a lid, crease and highlight color all in one pot.

Clean fragrance mini roller ball set

This mini set comes with 3 roller balls in the original scent, provence and simply soap. These are perfect to keep in your purse. They are all very clean non offensive scents that you can put on just to freshen up without smelling like you took a bath in perfume. Simply soap is my favorite of the 3 but they all smell really nice.

**I purchased all of these products except for MAC ones at Ulta

I'd love to know if you have tried any of these and what your thoughts are!
