Katie over at Let's Be Preppy does these posts all the time and I absolutely love them! So I decided to follow her on this one. This is an outfit I wore running errands, going to class and having dinner the other day.One problem with Polyvore is that you can't always find exactly what you need.. so you have to improvise.   The actual cardi I wore was from Talbots and my top was from Gap and had a ruffle at the top and was a lighter pink, but other than that it is my exact outfit! I love these types of posts, I hope you all do as well! I'd love to see more people do these!

Shoe Candy

I happen to love this new trend. Shoe clips. What a genius idea. This simple and affordable yet adorable accessory can turn a plain pair of shoes into a fabulous pair! Love. it.

(side note: I think my mom may have come up with this concept years ago when she would make bows for the laces of my Keds, they clipped on and matched my outfits. She should have totally patented it.)

Some of my favs I've seen...

I found these on Modcloth's website

$15.99

$13.99

And these adorable ones on Etsy...

Talk about transforming a pair of nude shoes. I love both of these. Check out both of these shops, the sellers have tons of cute stuff!

If you are interested in some shoe candy of your own I would suggest Etsy. All you have to do is search for shoe clips and literally over 2,000 results will come up! I've linked all the sellers in with the prices so that is a great starting point as well! Each designer makes several different ones, all of them were adorable. Such a great idea.. especially since we are headed into ballet flat season!!!

Foodie Friday Part 2: Shhhhhhhh!! It's a secret!!

So, I just received a top secret email from Starbucks and of course I had to share it with you all!!  A sign of fall has appeared to me today and I am happy to report that TOMORROW August 28th the Pumpkin Spice Latte is returning to Starbucks!!!!!!! I hope that this means that the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin is soon to follow! Now, the latte will not be on the menu because it really is a secret for now, but at participating Starbucks you can order one starting tomorrow!! How exciting. Ahhhhh Fall. Please hurry. I miss you. Until cooler breezes come.. I'll just have to sip my Pumpkin Spice Latte and turn the AC down. ;)

Foodie Friday: College Tailgating 101

I saw this really fun article on celebrations.com and knew I had to share it. My team's first game is Sat, September 4th and I cannot wait! I absolutely love college football season (if you haven't guessed from my gameday outfit posts). One of the biggest aspects of any college gameday experience is the tailgating! This is the perfect place to debut those fabulous gameday outfits, see friends/family, and of course eat lots of yummy tailgate food!

So here are the rules of tailgating, or College Tailgating 101 according to celebrations.com..

Rule#1 Pack for a full day of football fun: this means packing plenty of food, beverages and games/entertainment for an entire day of tailgating.Great game options are corn hole, ladder golf and any other fun games you can think of. Make sure you have plenty of tailgate chairs and I would suggest a tent (especially for really hot games).

Rule #2 The Early Bird Gets The Worm: Basically, the early tailgaters get the best spot. This is different at every school, at Clemson we have assigned parking (for all the good spaces) and then for those that don't have parking passes it is pretty much fist come first served. For tailgating spots it is best to plan ahead!!

Rule #3 Sharing Is Caring: Delegate responsibilities equally. Often times people tailgate with family, or several families tailgate together, so basically all the moms cook the food. But, it's always nice to offer to help or pitch in for napkins, etc. I'm sure they will say no because they are aware you are a poor college kid, but it is always polite to offer. It's also a good idea to have extra chairs, food etc. because you know that all sorts of random friends will be stopping by the tailgate i.e. tailgate hoppers/crashers.

Tailgating is all about fun and fellowship and getting ready for the big game! So whether you are snacking on sandwiches and fried chicken or watching a big screen all day... the point is to have fun!!

One of my favorite recipes to take to tailgate...

Ham Rolls

Ingredients:
2 sticks butter, softened
3 tbsp. poppy seeds
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp. mustard
3 pkgs. party rolls
Grated Swiss cheese
Sliced ham (each pkg. of rolls will need 3 pieces of the pre-packaged sandwich ham)

Directions:
Mix first 4 ingredients. Slice rolls lengthwise (like layer cake). Spread both sides with mixture. Put ham on bottom half and sprinkle with cheese. Wrap in foil. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. (It helps to cut before cooking.) Let cool slightly before slicing. Even if pre-cut, they will need slicing again.

TAG! I'm it!

Miss Southern Prep has tagged me for this really fun post! I always enjoy reading her blog! She always has super cute posts and leaves me the sweetest comments! So, now onto the tag...

1. What's your signature color?
As Julia Roberts said in Steel Magnolias, "After all... pink is my signature color."

2.What's your most embarrassing moment?
Oh wow, I have had a couple of these mainly due to the fact that I am majorly clumsy. I guess the one that sticks out in my mind involves me slipping and falling into a swimming pool. Let's just say it was NOT graceful. And did I mention the pool was full of hot guys? Yeah.. not so fun.

3.Would you ever get anything besides your ears pierced?
Simply put, no, absolutely not.

4. Are you a social butterfly or a homebody?
Generally speaking I would lean more towards social butterfly. I am usually very outgoing and like to hang out with people and go new places. However, there are times when I am a complete homebody and want nothing more than to stay in and watch movies and veg out. So I guess.. both?

5. Are you done having babies, or do you want more?
I don't have any children unless you count my dog Molly. I am pretty sure I do want children some day if God chooses to bless me with them.

Molly right after I picked her up from the breeders.

6. Are you loyal to your hairstylist or do you try every new hairstylist in town? I have been going to my hairstylist Staci for the past 6 years. She does an amazing job on my hair and I will be loyal to her until she quits or I move away. Love love love her and all the girls at Bliss Salon, they do an amazing job!

7. How many times have you moved in your life?
3 times, 2 while in grade school/high school and 1 when I moved for college

8. If you could plan a vacation with just you and your love, where would it be?
Assuming this means dream vacation (all expenses paid) I would say the island nation called  Seychelles off the east coast of Africa. This is one of my dream places I want go to. (Other places I want to go include Tahiti, The Greek Isles, Italy, Paris, and Ireland.)

TopShop Handbags

Fall is soon approaching, I hope. I love summer but these days in South Carolina it is a miracle to get through the day with your makeup still intact! So I am definitely ready for a cooler breeze and the need for a cardigan! So, I am admittedly obsessed with handbags/purses/totes. It is ridiculous, I know that I have way to many but somehow it seems like I never have enough. As I've said before I have a gift (or curse) of rationalizing any purchase, which can be dangerous. So, obviously with fall coming I need a new bag (or five) right?! OF COURSE! So I've been looking at a few sites and I was recently looking on Topshop's site and although I'm not a total fan of all their stuff, I actually found several bags that I liked.

Here are a few that I think are really cute for fall. They are all from Topshop so you can find them on their website which I linked above.

I really love a great clutch and I think that this one is great for fall. It's $44, which I don't think is a horrible price and I am sure it will go on sale. This one I will keep checking on because I really like the colors in it.

Leather Detail Bow Holdall, $100. This bag I liked, it also comes in gray and a buttery yellow color. The gray looks really nice, especially because that is one of the "it" colors for fall/winter 10, if you care about that stuff.

Large Puchlock Leather Satchel, $180
I really really love this bag. I love the color, style, everything. The only thing I don't love is the price. Although it seems to be a really nice bag, $180 is a lot for me to spend on a red bag that is seasonal and can't be worn with everything (in my opinion). But, it is a really great bag and gives me some sort of idea for a colorful fall bag.  Who knows maybe TopShop will have a half off sale.

This is another Leather Pushlock Bag and it's priced at $190. I love the color of this bag. I think you could wear it with almost everything. It comes in other colors as well but I really liked this one.

Leather Chain Handle Bag, $90
This bag reminds me of Chanel, and who doesn't like that? Seriously.

TopShop for me is hit and miss. Some things I really love and could see me wearing and others I hate. These bags I really liked, there were others I liked on the site as well. To me that is really the key to being a good shopper, keeping an open mind about different stores and picking and choosing pieces that work best for you and your personal style. I'm sure there will be many more bag posts, as my search continues so stay tuned!

Foodie Friday: Chelseas Tea Room

Last fall on our way back from a girls mountain weekend we stopped in Asheville, NC for brunch. If you have never been to Asheville, you really must. It is a quaint little town centered around the Biltmore Estate, which is the largest home in America I do believe. In the Biltmore Village there is a fabulous little tea room called Chelseas. It is absolutely adorable and has a boutique filled with all sorts of gifts on each side!

It is a fantastic brunch spot! As I've mentioned in past blogs I am a huge fan of the split, ordering two things and splitting with someone. K and I did this when we went to Chelseas and it was the perfect solution because everything on the menu sounded so delicious! Here is what we ordered...

Eggs Benedict - poached eggs, grilled ham and hollandaise on an English muffin. It comes with fruit and a side, we got cheese grits and they were the most amazing grits I have ever had in my life!

Monte Cristo- smoked turkey, honey ham and Swiss cheese on batter dipped rustic white bread, with powdered sugar and maple syrup. (This was K's pick and I was a little skeptical, but it was fantastic!)

If you are ever in the Asheville, NC area I highly recommend stopping in at Chelseas! You will not be disappointed! It is a must eat!

Happy Friday girls!

Have you heard about...

Belle Ame'?  If you haven't let me catch you up to speed. Belle Ame' is this super cute, super fun bath products line. It is a family owned and operated business in Pensacola Fl. I recently found their website and I am DYING to try their products! I would love to be able to visit the store to actually smell the stuff before I buy it, but the website gives great descriptions and pictures! The site also has a few things that you can use outside of the tub like a mini emergency kit that has all kinds of things including band aids, nail polish remover and breath freshener. They also make these things called bath bombs that are like those giant powder balls that fizz in the bathtub, these bath bombs have stuff in the middle! YES! Things like rose petals, and a special clay that brings out impurities in your skin. All the products look amazing and they are very affordable! The perfect way to pamper yourself after a long day!! The website is super cute, I urge each of you to take a peak! Here are a few things that are in my shopping cart...

Stop and Smell the Roses Bath Bomb

 French Lavender Bath Bomb

 Life's a Beach soap
(one side moisturizing, one side exfoliating. BLISS)

 Lavender Loofah Soap
a sponge and soap in one. brilliant.

This kit is genius!! All of this stuff comes in a compact bag that can easily fit in your purse! It includes:
Hairspray, Clear Nail Polish, Nail Polish Remover, Emery Board, Lip Balm, Earring Backs, Clear Elastics, Sewing Kit, Double-Sided Tape, Stain Remover, Deodorant Towelette, Pain Reliever, Tampon, Breath Freshener, Dental Floss, and Adhesive Band aids

FDO

I love seeing what people wear, my mom still tells about how I would come home from kindergarten and tell her what everybody had on that day. This post has been going around a lot so I figured I would join the fun. So here is my FDO or first day outfit and a few things that are in my school bag.

Not Your Momma's Talbots

OK, so I have long been a critic of Talbots. It is my mom's favorite store so she always drags me in there to help her pick out clothes, I have always hated it. But, recently (the past 3-4 months) I have actually enjoyed our visits to Talbots! In an attempt to appeal to a younger more modern clientele, Talbots has revamped their plain Jane sweater sets and added very stylish yet classic pieces! We are talking adorable cardies, jackets, tops, jeans, basically a fabulous new line! I absolutely love some of the new things for fall! I have already purchased a few things that I cannot wait to wear once this South Carolina air gets a little cooler! I understand if you might be skeptical... so please enjoy the evidence below!

J
